Many other signs therefore, Jesus also performed in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name. John 20:30,31

This is the plan of the Gospel of John. The author authenticates his purpose by his conclusion: " This is the disciple who bears witness to these things, and wrote these things; and we know that his witness is true. And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books which were written. John 21:24,25

Our daily existence is a struggle against these limitations of which Jesus proved to be Master.

The first chapter sets the perimeters of John's mission statement to us. ( John 20:30,31 )

Let's examine his testimony ( His written proof ) concerning Jesus and proper understanding of who He is, the Christ, the Son of God.

If we believe we will be given the power to cope with the factors of life over which we have no control.

In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines into the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:1-5

Pretend this flashlight represents Jesus and its light coming from it is His love toward us.

First of all we needs to be acceptors of His love. Believers have life in His name.

Second we need to be reflectors of His love. Testifiers of the goodness of His love.

Don't let anything get between you and the love of Jesus.

The darkness cannot overcome Him but it can block our view or the view of others who are still seeing Jesus through us.
